Finca Del Sol is an eco lodge and permaculture farm located on Ometepe - a tropical volcanic island in Nicaragua. Finca Del Sol's logo needed to represent the unity between the island's past, present and future and the interconnectedness of all life that inhabits the land.
The powerful presence of the island's 2 volcanoes is represented as two hands intertwining into the shape of the island. Orange for the still active Volcan Concepcion, and green for the now extinct Volcan Maderas. Maderas' silhouette outlines the logo in respect to the rich, volcanic soil she provides that allows Finca Del Sol's farm to flourish at her base.
A nod to past cultures is illustrated as spirals within the palms - a representation of the hundreds of spiral petroglyphs scattering the island. The hands reaching for each other is the promise to always respect the land's history and past cultures through education and sustainability.
Finca Del Sol's website had a lot of information that needed to be organized in a clean and intuitive manner. It not only needed to introduce people to Finca Del Sol, but to the island of Ometepe as a whole. The team at Finca wanted their website to be used as a hub that helped individuals plan their entire visit on Ometepe, not just lodging.
Emphasis on the team, their story and the close-knit community of the island was important to display. This website is the first point of contact for many people, so it was important that the essence of Finca Del Sol was communicated.
